Despite a tumultous start to life, Himawari is a woman with a positive outlook, always looking to see the good in things. She refuses to allow her past to define her despite the ghosts that still haunt her and chooses to rise above it each day.Deeply caring and protective, her heart's greatest desire to live in a world where she and those she loves can be safe and comfortable. With a warm and nurturing nature, she's always ready to extnd her hand and offer support to those around her. To protect herself and those she cares about she's become pragmatic, carefully weighing every decision and considering the full picture before acting. However, despite this, Himawari will often neglect her own needs and place other's above her own.
Born in a rural seaside town, Himawari was the first daughter born to her parents. Born with extraordinarily normal horns, they turned to crystal when she was still a young child and has never openly spoken of how this came to be. Himawari's father was prone to gambling koban and with the family starving, he decided to sell his eldest daughter to a yukaku (brothel). In her years at the yukaku, Himawari grew up with a belly full of white rice and the best education a daughter of her status could ask for. Underneath the oiran she was a kamuro (child servant) to, Himawari had what she thought to be a happy life.Upon turning 18 her life changed. No longer a kamuro, she began her courtesan career as a shinzo. With scarcely enough time to eat between clients she grew thinner and thinner and rumours of her blunt honesty began to ruin what reputation she had - if a client asked her if she had a good time she was bluntly tell them no. Wanting to get rid of this unruly courtesan before she ruined their good name, Himawari was sold from yukaku to yukaku with a new name given to her with each one - Minor, Shiragiku, Hanaka.Eventually she was sent to the unruly town of Wansui where she attracted the attention of one of the local Triads. After being told she would be a spy in the rival yukaku, Himawari spent some months there before her contract was purchased by the then-journalist Sima Qian which ultimately freed her.

Hi there! Thanks for checking out Himawari's carrd.As for me, I'm over the age of 21 and prefer the people I roleplay with to also be over this age. I've been roleplaying for way too long and I'm open to all types - just ask if you're not sure. I try to write paragraphs whenever possible. One on ones? Expect paragraphs. In a group? Shorter replies - I don't wanna hold anyone up.I'm based in the UK so it can be a little difficult to catch me to arrange stuff and I'd like it if that could be kept in mind when planning stuff. Staying up until 5am every night is difficult with work! I mainly roleplay on weekends but if we're able to fit something in mid week that's totally fine with me too.I've been playing Final Fantasy XIV for roughly ten years, and even now I do get a little anxious about walking up to people (even friends!) so I appreciate it when people walk up to me. Tells are great too!I enjoy reading a lot and travelling. I try to make myself available most weekends unless I'm out of town - even then I've been known to bring my laptop to try and fit a scene in!

Himawari's character has some darker themes but these won't be divulged without your consent. I appreciate her background as a courtesan may be uncomfortable to some which I totally understand! In order to write her accurately and sensitively, I put a lot of research into how the Willow World would work in Hingashi and with the exposition provided by Yotsuyu's backstory, it appears this does run similar to how this did in the Yoshiwara - just without the Yoshiwara district! For my own personal comfort I have opted to increase the age of when the girls would typically start their career.

Crystal Horns
Common
The most noticable thing about Himawari is that her horns, usually pale in colour in Raen, are clear and look something similar to crystal. This has lead to rumours of her being a goddess, a yokai and once elevated her status in the Willow World. Her horns appear to be aesthetic in nature, Himawari is reluctant to talk about it.

It's no secret that Himawari was once known by the moniker 'Hanaka' and was one of the leading courtesans in the town of Wansui. Although she now masquerades as a woman of the status she married into, her horns make her recognisable which means that the topic of her past is one that can be easily brought up to her.

Common
A lot of people know her husband, Sima Qian. A lot of people don't. For those who do, they may be surprised to even hear that he has a wife and has taken in her two 'little sisters'. Himawari plays the role of his dutiful wife and will happily engage with those who know him and stand up to his detractors. His naysayers will say that their marriage is a sham or note there's something odd with their coupling.

To those who talk with her it is clear that honesty is a virtue which Himawari clearly values. No matter the situation the truth rolls from her tongue - for better or worse. Honesty is a terrible value for a courtesan and in order to keep a roof over her head, Himawari is someone who is very good at misdirection.

Something is off with Himawari. It's hard to put one's finger on the pulse but those who are particularly aether sensitive may ascertain to why that is.
